Pros

1) Zero travel expectations but there if you want it 2) No federal government work - all commercial (a plus for variety of work) 3) Empathetic and competent corporate and office leadership 4) Good bench policy (CapTech does not put consultants on half pay like other consulting firms) 5) Opportunity to work with much admired brands in DC area and out of market 6) Employee feedback taken seriously. CapTech conducts a yearly employee survey and they have taken positive steps in 2019 based on last year's suggestions.

Cons

Difficult to get to main Reston office for meetings during or after rush hour from client site (especially from suburban Maryland or Alexandria). CapTech now has a smaller Tysons office too so this helps for certain events.

Pros

Moving from a large consulting firm to CapTech was one of the best decisions I have made. Everyone in the DC office makes all new joiners feel welcome and genuinely wants them to succeed. CapTech provides numerous training opportunities for all their employees and encourages them to go after what they want. I have been shocked at how open and honest they are about policies, compensation, strategies, etc. If someone asks for additional insight, they will make sure to provide clear information to the entire company. Best of all, CapTech is fun and caring. They hold a large range of events from sports outings, volunteer opportunities, and workout classes. There is something for everyone - and if someone has a new idea, they are encouraged to bring it to life.

Cons

Like any smaller consulting firm there are sometimes fewer roles to chose from and may be a lack of a certain type of role at any point in time. However the senior leadership and recruiting teams are great at knowing what is available, what isn't, and how to best find matches for both employees and clients.

Pros

I have been with the company for several years after working for another well known consulting firm. In comparison, I am impressed with the overall culture and the growth opportunities afforded. I have been able to assume much greater client responsibilities and take on account leadership duties as well. I feel like I can progress as quickly as I am ready. Office leadership has been responsive as well to my desire to get involved with outside interest groups and CapTech also headlines community outreach events which is important to me. I enjoy feeling like I can develop professionally while staying connected to my outside interests.

Cons

CapTech has seen tremendous growth the past few years and sometimes the growing pains appear when putting in place new processes around compensation and coaching. CapTech is not perfect but they have put in place mechanisms to get feedback from the market and its employees and they act on that feedback. CapTech’s heart is in the right place.
