Pros

* Great work life balance * Solid compensation - especially for new grads * Some great coworkers and some great Engineering leaders. * Good if you're not looking for challenging tasks, and if you're really just trying to coast and cash a paycheck.

Cons

1.) It feels like it's really hard to navigate your career at CapTech. CapTech will put you into projects that do not align with your career interest and goals. I have also seen some of my colleagues get stuck on the bench for months on end and start to stagnate and not learn anything new. 2.) The client list and projects available is very very abysmal. There is not a lot of clients to choose from (it's not like you have a choice to choose where you end up anyways). 3.) Coaching culture is great for some, but a bust for many. Coaches really can make or break your experience at CapTech, and not all coaches are created equal. If you're stuck with a unenthusiastic/hands-off coach, you can really feel isolated and not set up for a great bonus or raise for the next year. 4.) The work is unchallenging, and really depends on your project. However from talking to most of my old colleagues, a lot of them do agree with my statement and think the work/workload is way too easy. 5.) The marketing team does a great job of making CapTech look sexy and cutting edge, but in reality it's just another firm where they're trying to win work and bill hours for the bottom line of making more money for the firm. 6.) I've seen a lot of wasted potential land bad projects, or never get staffed at all.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are sorry to learn that while there were many parts of your CapTech experience that you enjoyed, ultimately, you did not find your project as engaging as you had hoped. As a consultancy, our objective is to help our clients solve their most complex business and technological challenges. We serve as trusted advisors to deliver great work and ensure their needs are met. With that in mind, we can appreciate that not every project will be perfectly aligned to every consultant’s individual interests. Being an entrepreneurial firm, we support our consultants to explore their curiosities and cross-train in areas both within and outside of their practice areas and get involved in company-wide initiatives that often provide additional leadership opportunities. We are sorry your time with us was short, but we wish you the best of luck on your career journey and thank you for your contributions. Katy Apostolides, HR Director

Pros

Strong coaching and culture focused on supporting each other. The people are the best part of working here. While there are anomalies in any firm, the majority of CapTech consultants are very talented, driven, innovative, and smart. Flexible and remote work environment allows better work/life balance and the opportunity to come into the office when needed. The focus on diversity and inclusion has an increased weight over the past year, with a lot of opportunities to get engaged in events, ERGs, and community volunteering. CapTech has a cross office council that supports D&I as a core value to continue improving diverse representation at all levels (still has a way to go but they seem committed for the long term). The consultants that seem to thrive are those that take ownership of their career and seek out opportunities to demonstrate their strong work ethic. But for those that are comfortable where they are at, that’s ok too since it’s not an “up or out” company. This is a place where someone can make a positive and rewarding career.

Cons

While CapTech has some recent innovative big client wins, a lot of the existing work can be compared to staff augmentation. Recent leadership changes have caused some concern on reporting structure as the company is working to mature and grow.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We appreciate knowing that our improvements are being recognized across the organization! We will continue to listen and receive feedback so we can enhance the experience for all CapTechers. We now have our DIB Roadmap, which will help inform our engagement and recruiting activities for years to come; and the introduction of CapFlex is helping us to reimagine the employee experience, centered around radical flexibility and finding alternative ways of engaging our workforce. We believe in putting our CapTechers first and value how much you contribute to our clients’ and CapTech’s overall success. We thank you for your review and for being an integral part of CapTech’s culture. – Katy Apostolides, HR Director
