Pros

It had a great culture, people who cared about you, the clients were amazing to work with.

Cons

Pay is below market rate, and they fired more than half their staff to keep afloat. It was a messed up situation for everyone involved and didn't reflect the company values.

Capacity Interactive Response

Hi There, We're starting the practice of responding to reviews when applicable as part of our ongoing efforts to bring transparency and accountability to more areas of our work. First, we want to thank you for your feedback. We acknowledge that laying off a large portion of our staff has had a profound impact on everyone involved. It was a decision we did not make lightly, and we hope to never be in that position again. Regarding employee compensation, we acknowledge that serving non-profit clients has a direct impact on the compensation we are able to offer. We have formed an internal committee to, among other things, revisit our compensation structure. While it may not result in monumental changes, we are hopeful this exercise will lead to positive change. If you'd like to talk more, please reach out to Molly Shoemaker, Manager of People Operations (mshoemaker@capacityinteracitve.com).

Pros

Capacity Interactive is a wonderful place to work. Though the company has been through some growing pains, I am very thankful for the skills (both technical and interpersonal) that I have gained here. Your colleagues truly care and are invested in your growth, starting from day one with a 3 week curriculum of training. Team leaders are empathetic and understanding. The work is fulfilling and interesting. The nature of digital marketing means you are constantly learning and adapting, which is an environment I personally love and cherish. There are great perks including a flexible work from home policy, lots of time off (5 weeks), summer Friday's, office snacks (and beer and wine), matching 401k, etc. The company is made up of some amazing and talented people, many of which have become great friends and mentors. While every job has its ups and downs, I wake up every day excited and happy to come to work.

Cons

Growing at a rapid rate is bound to come with some challenges. We've far outgrown our office space - something leadership is aware of and will hopefully be remedied in the next year. Pay is higher than you would get paid at an arts organization but lower than you would get paid at other agencies outside of the arts. At times, teams are understaffed and overworked, but leadership and HR seem to work fast to resolve these situations when they arise. With all of that said, if you're passionate about the arts, value learning and self-improvement, and are looking for a fun culture and environment, CI is a great place to be!
