Pros

A lot of events that are regularly hosted, this does provide an opportunity to meet people during drinks. Access to training is available and the opportunity to deliver training is encouraged should you be knowledgeable in a subject. Free soft drinks should you be based in the office with access to a pool table and a table tennis table.

Cons

As much as I tried, I found that the opportunities to develop myself were non-existent. A lot of the work is filling in on projects with Excel and PowerPoint material. This was a stark contrast to what they had portrayed to me during recruitment. I had read the Glassdoor reviews and dismissed them as being emotional or not a fair reflection of the firm, but they have proved to be accurate. The talent of the firm is fairly low to what I had experienced in both industry and rival firm, middle management are more like fast promoted graduates still leading a student lifestyle and putting the blame on to associates which I could not tolerate. There is a heavy drinking culture, which at first was fine but then I found it was the only way to get promoted because you are 'one of the lads'. It is encouraged to get into a 'relationship' (encounter more like) with co-workers as it would do your career wonders, the problem is that professionalism is an afterthought. Performance management is a joke as the management would ear mark the individuals in advance of the round table and having seen first hand the decision making process I felt no matter how much I defended my representatives it did not matter. They want to get into digital consulting but if you are not good at consulting in FS how can you break into a new sector?? Digital is not just websites!!! With no relationships with suppliers it is not going to bode well. The attrition is beginning to take a hit due to good people leaving for pastures new. Earlier in the year they had acknowledged it was a concern yet that did no stop someone from asking "Will I get a bigger bonus as a result" Seriously that is the type of people that Capco have bred.

Pros

- Aspirational, genuinely wants to be at the heart of innovation and all things emergent in FS - Very flat structure, lets you get on with it...mercifully very little micro-management - Potential value represented by breadth of the wider organisation i.e. FIS, Sungard (almost!), Clear2Pay

Cons

- cult of personality - say all is 'open' and 'trust'...completely the reverse - people think they are a lot better than they really are - race for complexity...when so much low hanging fruit right in front of us! - have not worked out how to genuinely attract, nurture, grow and retain stellar talent - management structures not fit for purpose
