A Great Place to Work!

Pros

I have worked at Capco for 6+ years now and can honestly say it's one of the best places I have ever worked for a number of reasons: Capco People - you will read this in other reviews, but the people are what really make the difference at Capco. People genuinely want to help you, they are approachable, with a diverse range of backgrounds and interests. I knew very little about Capco before joining, but the people I met during the recruitment process made me sure that it was somewhere I wanted to join! The fact that there is little hierarchy within the firm and that people don't get hung up on levels really helps this. Opportunity - as a member of the Corporate Services team, I've had 3 different roles in my time at Capco. For a firm that runs lean back office functions, this has never meant a lack of opportunity for my development and career growth and lots of people I know have made upwards as well as sideways moves. With Capco's new independence, there is a huge amount of opportunity for both career progression and shaping the firm. Capco culture - lots of people worry that this will be eroded with Capco's growth. We were around 200 people when I joined the UK team and we're now 800+, however, the culture has evolved with this, rather than eroded. Different people bring different ideas to the firm, this in turn has shaped the culture. It still remains a unique and fun place to work as a result. Employees can have their say, take ownership of initiatives with the support of the business, there's little bureaucracy, there are some great communities and groups to get involved with, there are recognition programs, lots of training opportunities and some really great social events and parties! If you are looking to join a firm where your opinions count, where people genuinely care, where you can work on challenging projects and be recognized and rewarded for it, where you can progress your career in a firm that's really going places and where you can have fun, join Capco!

Cons

Consulting is a fast-paced business, it isn't a 9-5 job and so may not be for everyone.

Pros

Excellent career opportunities combined with interesting work with highly talented people. I joined from a much larger consultancy ~3 years ago. In comparison, Capco provided me with a much higher degree of autonomy, challenged me in ways that I haven't been challenged before, given me opportunities to shape my career in a way that I can succeed (rather than a set of pre-defined boxes) and allowed me to focus on the industry I enjoy the most. I've found that Capco hasn't forgotten about the 'little things' that make somewhere a great place to work. There is very little red tape, there is lots of recognition of good work, there is budget to train, to celebrate and to coach, and most importantly, there is a feedback culture that actually works. I enjoy working for Capco because we are different, we punch well above our weight and I feel like we genuinely look after our people.

Cons

We are leaner than some of the larger consultancies, which means we don't have some of the 'overnight' teams on tap to support with client deliverables. I personally love the absence of process and procedure for everything, but I've seen some people a little lost without it.

Thanks for your review and it's fantastic to hear your passion and enthusiasm for Capco! Your review really captures the essence of our firm - having come from a larger consultancy, the comparisons you draw, and benefits you highlight, really sum up what differentiates Capco and makes this company such a great place to work. The firm is very focused on providing a platform for talented individuals to shape their own career path and there are vast opportunities to enable our people to progress, learn and develop. From your review, it's clear that you fully embrace the Capco culture, and as a senior leader in our firm, it's great to hear your support for this. Consulting is a people business and Capco fully recognizes the importance of looking after our people. This comes in all forms from coaching families and regular recognition awards to employee off-site events and an excellent training curriculum. As the firm continues to grow, the leadership team remains committed to listening to our people through a variety of channels, including the upcoming 'Shape Capco' sessions, in order to continue to foster Capco's unique culture. Thanks for your continued contribution to the Capco team!
