Pros

Sr Management is exceptional, fair, seasoned and approachable. There is an undeniable care that comes from Sr Mgrs and partners for their employees. The pay is very good, better than most professional services firms. Half the employees are qualified and brilliant, if you are an intelligent person, you can go very far with this firm, as they give you quite a bit of freedom to open doors as you see fit.

Cons

Half the employees are dumb as a brick, unqualified, and should have never been hired in a modern professional services firm The company is inflating their pipeline to prepare for an undisclosed sale - apparently the first bid fell through There is NO mobility provided by this firm, you can get promoted, but you will be working with relatively the same clients year after year They are not innovating in any meaningful way, and all of the passionate techy people keep leaving.

Thank you for your review. We appreciate your comments about the way our partners and managers care for and remunerate our employees. Capco hires people from both the consulting and financial services industries. We have a rigorous recruitment process, offer extensive training to our employees, and aim to ensure that our employees have many opportunities for mobility, based on their skill set and interests. A testament to the strength of our people, and the power of our brand, can be found in the positive feedback we consistently receive from our clients. If you would like to have a confidential discussion to discuss this further, please reach out to our U.S. HR Lead, Mary Keller or Global HR Lead, David Heffernan.

Pros

You may have the ability to build connections/friendships with other employees & clients if you’re outgoing and produce solid work.

Cons

No overarching review process that is fair across the board. Underpay great resources and overpay/promote those who give up the little personal life they have to “contribute” internally or have inappropriate relationships/favoritism internally. Never saw the work/life balance they claim to promote. First firm I’ve ever worked with in years that doesn’t give guaranteed bonus and has no issue with underpaying people who do equivalent or better work (women, people of color). The HR department is one of the most dysfunctional/inappropriate I’ve seen in years apart from a few select individuals. I personally helped an intern speak with a third party and eventually decided not to file sexual harassment charges during the summer against a fellow Capco employee. The fact that their biggest concern was HR lack of confidentiality/propriety was extremely saddening and not shocking.

At Capco, there is a robust process in place to assess performance. Over this past year, we have piloted successfully a new feedback tool and program, which enables real-time feedback from Project Managers and others to be entered via an app/portal. Feedback is then reviewed by a number of independent reviewers at ‘round tables’, to ensure fairness and objectivity in assessments and ratings. In addition to performance in role, our new approach also provides for recognition for broader contribution to the firm such as recruitment, diversity and Corporate Responsibility. Feedback from staff for a more ‘holistic and transparent approach to performance has been favorable. Bonuses are not guaranteed but based upon performance. Capco has consistently paid at or above market in both base pay and bonuses. We monitor our pay practices for fairness, especially in relation to gender and ethnicity. We take eradicating any pay gap very seriously. Our HR team is comprised of committed professionals who care deeply about the wellbeing of all of those at Capco. They ensure that any complaints that may be brought to our attention are investigated fully and fairly, and that appropriate action is taken in response to any issues. Sometimes complete confidentiality may not be possible given the nature of a complaint and the need to investigate fairly, but we can give an absolute reassurance that we act properly, with sensitivity and with the utmost discretion.

Pros

The right place to work if you are ambitious and willing to take control of and grow your own career. Additional opportunity and responsibility given to those who show they are capable and up for the challenge.

Cons

Changes in leadership have been difficult for employees at the firm more than one year, but new leadership looks to be taking firm in the right direction.
