A Great Place to Work!

Pros

I have worked at Capco for 6+ years now and can honestly say it's one of the best places I have ever worked for a number of reasons: Capco People - you will read this in other reviews, but the people are what really make the difference at Capco. People genuinely want to help you, they are approachable, with a diverse range of backgrounds and interests. I knew very little about Capco before joining, but the people I met during the recruitment process made me sure that it was somewhere I wanted to join! The fact that there is little hierarchy within the firm and that people don't get hung up on levels really helps this. Opportunity - as a member of the Corporate Services team, I've had 3 different roles in my time at Capco. For a firm that runs lean back office functions, this has never meant a lack of opportunity for my development and career growth and lots of people I know have made upwards as well as sideways moves. With Capco's new independence, there is a huge amount of opportunity for both career progression and shaping the firm. Capco culture - lots of people worry that this will be eroded with Capco's growth. We were around 200 people when I joined the UK team and we're now 800+, however, the culture has evolved with this, rather than eroded. Different people bring different ideas to the firm, this in turn has shaped the culture. It still remains a unique and fun place to work as a result. Employees can have their say, take ownership of initiatives with the support of the business, there's little bureaucracy, there are some great communities and groups to get involved with, there are recognition programs, lots of training opportunities and some really great social events and parties! If you are looking to join a firm where your opinions count, where people genuinely care, where you can work on challenging projects and be recognized and rewarded for it, where you can progress your career in a firm that's really going places and where you can have fun, join Capco!

Cons

Consulting is a fast-paced business, it isn't a 9-5 job and so may not be for everyone.

Pros

Great exposure to various banking clients. I had the opportunities to meet a diversified professions in banking through this wonderful experience. There are a lot exit options for people to go to big four or go back to banking. Partner level people welcome coffee chat and like to mentor junior level consultant like me. HR is highly supportive and fair for international workers (although now they don't sponsor as the international worker number cap is reached). Clients are all large banks. I get to know lot of really smart and positive colleagues and became lifelong friends. Most importantly, it's a fun and engaging culture with a lot of young and passionate individuals. I had a great time with it! Last but not the least, joined as an associate, I left as a senior consultant, my salary doubled. Its benefits are among the top percentile among the peers.

Cons

Client work sometimes is good and sometimes is bad. But if you have a good brand, you will easily get a good project as people just reach out to you. It's never a really big problem to me to get a good project that contain strategy substance or exit a project I don't like.
