Pros

While I worked at Capital One, my team was super helpful and collaborative, there were lots of ways to get involved outside of my day-to-day, and WLB was great. Pay was less than FAANG but still pretty solid.

Cons

Stacked ranking is killing the company, especially when leadership makes poor decisions and has to change the amount of poor performers from 8% to 20% as an excuse to lay people off. WLB is definitely team dependent, and performance reviews often come down to who you know, how well your manager can vouch for you, and how hard the other people on your level work.

Pros

The emphasis on work life balance here is insane! Work is rewarding and and culture is fantastic.

Cons

I don’t like the hybrid approach the company took for new hires. I was the only member of my team in the NYC area for the first year.
