Pros

Great company values and overall position in the HVAC market. Direct and easy communication between all areas of the company, including sales offices, service, R&D, and Corporate. Supportive but hands-off Corporate atmosphere allows individuals to learn and settle into their own niche markets. Roles are multifaceted with many various responsibilities. Pay and most benefits are well above industry average.

Cons

Very lean/flat structure makes it hard for upward advancement in terms of job titles, though salary is based on your value to the company, not necessarily your job title. 401(k) match is below average but adequate.

Pros

The interview process was very rapid – I had two telephone interviews and then met with numerous people later in the week. My job offer was in my email before I even got home that evening. Once I started with CaptiveAire and even still now occasionally, I have a difficult time adjusting to the fact that there aren’t multiple layers of corporate bureaucracy to go through like with other large companies. If you have an idea on how to make things better or more efficient, propose it – you will not ever be made to feel inferior by any team member. Mr. Luddy often sends out emails updating everyone on how well the company is doing in the market and always thanks us for our hard work and dedication. You feel like you are part of the company and not just a worker-bee. I feel the vacation time is better than most companies as you start earning time off right away. The bonus potential is amazing – work hard and you will be rewarded. The company doesn’t skimp on the best tools for you to work as efficiently as possible either– no recycled computers from 2001 – I have a MacBook Pro and a 37-inch desk monitor, I use Air Pods as a headset for my phone – not to mention the little extras at Corporate are great too – fresh fruit, coffee, catered lunches.

Cons

I really don’t have anything negative to say, and I’m really reaching for this – the office is very quiet and in my other desk, I felt like I was yelling and disturbing others around me when I was on a call. Or I would whisper, and the caller couldn’t hear me. Also, maybe we could have name plates for our doors/desks as there are still people I work with daily and I don’t know their names or what their capacity is within the company. Overall, "small potatoes"in the Cons department.
