      Great culture, slow development.

      Pros

      Culture is great. You get to work on user-facing features as a javascript engineer.

      Cons

      No dedicated testing team. Development tooling is sub-par. Transitioning from mono repo to multi-repo. Code duplication is encouraged because the configuration is brittle. Shared services go down randomly. When they are down, you are unable to develop. Starting on-call rotations. 10 hours of meetings per week on average.

      Great Benefits and culture. It's a nice place to work.

      Cons

      When you start you need to negotiate a high salary because it will be very difficult to increase while at CarGurus, Lots of departures after 1-2 years after everyone figures this out.
