Pros

The working environment is stress free and the coworkers are great. Overall it is a fun place to work, especially if you love cars and talking to people. In terms of car sales it isn't your typical hard sales job because each car has a set price. The employee discount on cars isn't bad either.

Cons

The work schedule can be difficult at times and vacation policy is very gray, with no time accrewed or saved. Vacation policy is use time away as you need it. Also, on slow days once you have done everything that needs to be done it can get really boring.

Pros

So far, in an unstable economy this dealership has remained solid in its commitment to not lay-off anyone. As the economy worsens only time will tell if management will stick to their guns on this issue. The benefits are comprehensive and comparable to other employers but not spectacular. This is one of the cleanest dealerships in the automotive industry given their size. The shops are well organized and very well equiped. Auto techs have all their tools provided by the company. Management plans cook outs with quarterly company meetings to let employees know the health of the company, dealership performance, and to break up workplace monotony. They give referal bonuses for new hires. Stock options availible to most employees.

Cons

Very limited advancement oppertunities if you are not willing to relocate. Bonus programs not tied to individual performance but to dealership performance and are rarely acquired. No cost of living, or annual wage increases. (I.E. You get paid the amount you get paid untill you advance even if it takes 5 years to advance to next level!) Technical training is offered but classes are few and far between and have limited availibility.

Pros

Strong training programs and flexible hours. Many employees seem to take pride in their work and enjoy the structure.

Cons

"Frat-like" environment with a tremendous amount of off-color and innappropriate behavior. Perfect place to work if you have a side business that requires at great deal of your focus. Be sure to keep this to yourself however as it is frowned upon. Because the buyer position is as mindless as any position you could have, I cannot stress enough the importance of having additional revenue streams to occupy your time. Working amongst this caliber of personnel (uneducated, slovenly retail castoffs) can take its toll on someone that considers themselves motivated.
