Leadership is severely disjointed, siloed, lacks consensus, and are all after their own personal agendas. This is truly at a disservice for the rest of the company and for customers, since many great programs will stall out or fail because senior leaders could not agree or prioritize effectively. Leaders don’t trust their reports to make the right decisions or to provide valuable input, resulting in a culture of toxicity and stasis. Many talented and experienced people have left because they felt undervalued, unheard, or simply could not tolerate the chaos and uncertainty surrounding the fate of their projects. The company has become a shell of what it once was, especially after key players and innovators have taken off and not looked back. Now all you are left with are the inexperienced ‘leaders’ who cannot execute and who are blind or willfully blind to the chronic issues and the loss of talent. Bullying and shaming are rampant throughout the company. You can’t move up unless you suck up to leadership and parade around saying their favorite buzzwords at least 30 times a day, nevermind about showing actual results.
