Pros
Before I even started, my supervisor called me to schedule time with me for 30 minutes a week (while I worked my notice at my former company) to get to know me before my first day. When I got here, the entire team scheduled lunch with me, and each individual person built in multiple meetings and follow ups just to support me. The team I work on meets just to connect regularly and we have done multiple team building activities. The work is engaging and exciting with really high expectations. We are doing something that changes peoples lives and on team meetings and company meetings I get to hear how our company does that all the time through personal stories, advocacy and changes at micro and macro levels. There is full transparency and it's an environment where questions and ideas are welcomed. This is the most collaborative team I've worked on in many years. When leadership asks for feedback, they deliver results then tell the team what they've done to make changes or support or tell us why those changes may take time. The commitment to diversity and inclusion of all people is present, and the company is working toward that in the places where there needs to be growth through the Power of Diversity Leadership Team. Work/life balance is real and having a day off or taking PTO truly means you take that time and don't answer emails.
