      It was a fun learning experience.

      Pros

      Management took care of their employees. Compensation was very generous. It was hard work, but at the end of the day you feel like you accomplished something. Good opportunity to work in other positions.

      Cons

      The only really con to the job was that there was some strange hours. Shuttle trains would come in that would have to be unloaded within 24 hours and that created some odd work hours, but as state previously you were compensated generously for that.

      Pros

      Diversified businesses make the company economically resilient. Constant growth means doors are always opening. Senior management seems consistently compentant on big picture strategy. Strong ethics. This is important. For all our flaws we're not compromising our ethics... ever.

      Cons

      Human resources does not share business growth goals and does not help hire, retain, compensate talented people. Middle management often lacks basic skills as lack of independant contributor career paths force mid level employees into a management path with no skills. Compensation is pathetic for talented people. If you're not talented, compensation is average to above average.

      Good starting salary Large level of responsibility and autonomy Very good benefits

      Cons

      Experienced salary levels low and don't increase much Not enough sharing across entire company Very defined job paths by degree, hard to break free Poor morale from many operations employees Promote people who are smart engineers but bad managers
