      Good to Gain Experience - At the Right Center

      Pros

      The relationships built with children and families were amazing, and the supervisors I had over the years were wonderful. Due to the amount of support I received, I am the early childhood educator I am today. The philosophies of Reggio Emilia and Emergent Curriculum aligned with my personal philosophy. We also had a lot of freedom to come up with activities that followed the children's lead. The benefits were good, and time off was usually flexible.

      Cons

      The amount of paperwork needed by the state and the amount of time allowed varies by center depending on management and staffing - it can be almost impossible to keep up with. When working at other centers on days mine was closed, I wouldn't always have the best experiences with other staff or would notice that philosophy varies by center. There is little to no room to move up - despite having experience and education. It seemed they would rather hire from outside the company.

This past year we updated our Philosophy and continue to focus on the health and safety of our children, families and communities as being our top priority.       Pros

      Able to work full time, also flexible hours if need be. Fun place to work, full of activities, great to be around kids, 3 hours for nap time for the kiddos, long time for lunch (can be 30min-3hours). If lunch is longer than one hour, they compensate you for the day paying you like $12 each day called a split shift. Every time they have a job opening, they post it so employees can see it first and apply. This program is pretty big which lets employees be able to transfer to different locations and sites. They also offer substitutes/ on call positions. Provide health, dental, vision, life insurance (takes some money from your check for it but employer does pay for part of it) You get PTO, sick days, and hours that add up.

      Cons

      Management was switching because of some sketchy people up top so that reflected very poorly on the current managers at certain sites. Hopefully the new Program Manager of this location will take it seriously and actually care for employees.

      Pros

      Lots of growth, great connection with kids and parents.

      Cons

      Upper management really does not seem to care too much about the staff working at the schools. Supervisors and teachers for each school so as much and as best as they can, but the higher ups make things difficult sometimes.
