Pros

If you want to experience several ages and stages of children... This is a good company to start with.. You can utilize the resources to learn about programming.

Cons

There are centers that employ supervisors who believe they "own" the employees.. My advice is to gain your education, gain experience and really observe the operations.

Pros

- I got lucky because my coworkers were awesome. I am so thankful for my team of teachers that helped me throughout the whole journey. They really were the reason why I stayed and worked at CDC. - Really fast paced environment because I worked in a larger center so we always had plenty of children at our center. Time went by REALLY fast, compared to say, working at a boring office job. - I was given at least an hour of prep time, great and I am not complaining but an hour a day isn't much. - Good starting pay for new hires.

Cons

- Really strict policies, I felt really restricted in what I could do because I always had to make sure I was following the millions of policies implemented in the program. - Of course, some kids were bad but workable. However, a few were WAY TOO BAD. No matter what I did, even after asking for help from coworkers and supervisor and parents, I felt like nothing I was doing worked. I think of myself as a VERY patient person, but seems like every single day, I was pushed to the max. Horrible times. - In the beginning, I was really motivated and wanted to always do my best. It was to the point where I'd go home and do more work, for example making lesson plans, buying supplies out of my own pocket (this was out of my own will). I was constantly thinking about work even when I wasn't at work, I knew this wasn't very healthy as I'd be stressed out and anxious about going to work the next day. - This job is about being there for the kids, but in the end everything is a business and it is all about making money. - Staff started disappearing, being short staffed made things worse.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback! We are glad to hear you have had a good experience with your co-teachers. Building that collaboration is important, and we are glad to hear about your experience. Additionally, we appreciate your feedback regarding your experience working in the centers. Working with licensing, under Title 22 and Title 5, can have evolving regulations to follow. We are continually evaluating the processes and procedures, to assess where we can streamline and further develop operational support for our centers. We appreciate your insights, they are helpful to our development as an organization.
