Hard on aides and nurses, great for providers
Pros
Co workers are usually awesome people and Ithaca is a great area to live in. Good benefits package, including cheaper membership to one of the best gyms I have ever been a part of.
Cons
Administration is pretty obvious about favoring money over people, including its employees. Hospital is consistently understaffed, every shift. Makes it hard on nurses and aides alike, as everyone is doing the work of at least 2 people. This is a problem with hospitals all over the USA, but it is especially felt at CMC. Felt like Nurse managers were cool and understanding people, but that their hands were tied by the budget slavery administration put on them. Thus they came off as uncaring and un-listening people, which was unfortunate. Aides are underpaid for the amount of work that they do, often unaided by burnt out nurses.
