You won't find the same money or flexibility anywhere.

Pros

For one the schedule flexibility helps maintain a good work/life balance. If you want to work a lot then you can pick up extra shifts, but if you want a few days off you can have them covered relatively easy. The opportunity to make money is in your hands. The harder you work, the more you make. I have not worked a sales job that was this easy, and made the same money. Work / Life Balance. You can maintain a healthy work / life balance because of the flexible schedule, and ability to work from a mobile laptop. Never a dull day. The schedule moves you between local stores every day, so the job doesn't get stagnant.

Cons

If you don't push yourself to reach out to customers you will not do well. This job is not for people that want to be "glorified clerks". This job is for people that like to make money, earn money, and want to get paid for the work they put in. If you don't like pushing yourself to be better than this isn't the job for you. Very little room for job advancement. As a 100% commission job, reps (aside from team leaders) all have the same position.

Pros

Great money ($13k/month on a good month, $6k/month on a bad month). Full benefits, flexible hours, great co-workers, recognition for excellent performance, high-end managers are very hands-on, very little mico-managing and a lot of freedom.

Cons

Bit more travel than I prefer sometimes, but it's really no big deal. Worth the money.

Pros

There are success stories on every team. People to respect and emulate. They also do represent a pretty remarkable percentage of the market share. Their locations are smart and, for the most part, very professional looking.

Cons

They are not honest with you during the interview process. Things like, "you can set your own schedule", and "anyone with a heartbeat can make $50k/yr". Typically you are interviewed and hired by a person that is monetarily incentivised to add team members. And that would be fine if there were some oversight. But often, the devil is in the details. And the fine print on the whole deal is significant. You create your own company and then become a 1099 contractor. Then you participate in a tiered requisite schedule of cellular products, but you as the owner carry the burden of customer recourse. As in, if they return it, it goes on to your account. And not at the sales price. But a the non-contract product price. Phones that you sell in a 2 year contract for $100 may be worth $500. It if is returned, you pay the $500 if you cant resell it in a relatively short period of time. And the tiers often include peripheral or new product requirements, like a minimum number of mobile hotspot sales just to get into the next tier. They often seem put there because they are either new or not performing in the marketplace. Typically, they are hard to sell, and or get returned on a frequent basis. They also adopted a roster draft approach to scheduling. This rewarded top earners with dibs on stores, days, and hours of their choice. Seemed to be exciting at its inception. But as new employees, most of us suffered the "self-fulfilling prophecy" of bad stores on bad days creating a closed loop cycle of bottom of the draft selections. Sounds whiney, but you must understand that some of these stores may average as few as 2 customers in a store during a full shift, while others see 60+. So choose your hours at the bottom of the roster, and you will be forced to make chicken salad out of chicken caca just to avoid choosing from the bottom again.

Cellular Sales has not contracted with business owners since 2012. We now have team members/employees that have access to benefits such as healthcare, life insurance, disability coverage and 401K options while still earning the highest commissions in wireless. (Our average sales reps made over $47,000 after Verizon chargebacks in 2014.) Thank you again for your comments.
