      Great People. Fantastic content, Great possibilities

      For the size of the company and the overall percent of women working there, few make it past middle management. Too narrowly focused on "editorial prowess" Unwilling to experiment Bureaucratic Highly political, promotions based on who you know not what you know

      Great benefits lots of vacation time!

      Pros

      They have the best benefits of anyplace I have ever worked. You get 4 weeks vacation the first year and then shortly thereafter you get five. You have good health coverage, you get to wear jeans to work everyday, and you can flex your start time.

      Cons

      I happened to have a very passive aggressive manager who gave me a hard time about using my sick time after I had an illness after having my child. While the company was flexible about start times, she was not. Other people could work from home. I could not. So overall the company is a good place to work, but you may end up with an incompetent manager.

      Pros

      Great Employees, team environment, have each others back, socialize alot, Management/HR is truly interested in employee morale. HR is focused on employees. Chicago Management has our backs. The Chicago office still runs like a venture capital firm, where the employees are invested in Product Development and goals that are reached are celebrated.

      Cons

      The Chicago Office is a part of the entire Cengage organization now. Politics and employee handbooks have creeped in where a conversation used to be the protocol. The atmosphere is much more corporate now.
