Run in the other direction!

Pros

Work was sometimes rewarding. That's about it.

Cons

The executive director of this agency does not appear to have any idea how to run an agency or manage people. This is evidenced by the ridiculous turnover rate. People bailed out of there at an alarming rate and it was not unusual for people to "disappear" overnight. The other reviews are accurate in their complaints - antiquated computer system, no direct deposit, things falling apart, not enough supplies, management not listening to employees' needs and concerns - but there is no point correcting anything else as long as the current individual is the executive director. I don't believe there can be any chance of meaningful improvement when senior management is atrocious. There is supposedly a board of directors but they seem to be choosing not to notice the problems at this agency or they would step in and make some necessary changes.

Pros

highly accountable to their funders and licensing agencies good training experiences wonderful mission and everyone works hard to try to make it work I am salaried as clinician not fee for service get trained in evidenced based therapy like I have been salary ok for southern Maryland

Cons

this year was easier and after many years of struggle with changing business model with us clinicians, it seems like everyone is more understanding that they need to contribute if they want to stay salaried versus paid per client but we had many years with no increases benefits- no company retirement work with kids and so have some night hours

Thank you for your feedback All program managers do get a copy of their program budget, but we will work to insure they are shared with their staff. We do not have direct deposit and are working on this - with all the grant reporting and part time staff this is much more difficult than it would seem and our bank is just catching up to the digital world as it is regional vs national but the bank is working on this so that the downloads would not have to be there on Mondays- impossible for staff. We agree we would like to see better staff retention and while we are better than the statewide average in the behavioral health arena realize this is a huge challenge that stagnant rates and grant funding, some for over 13 years has not helped with.
