Ok, where do I begin.. When I was first hired I was told my schedule would be flexible and I could take my child to appointments, go home after my patients were seen, etc... Lies. I think they told me this to reel me in because I took my child to an appointment at 3pm after all my patients were seen and my work was done for the day and my manager made the remark that this was an '8-5 job' so she made me feel guilty for taking him to the appointment... And the 'flexibility' is the reason I took the job in the first place.
First of all my territory (which I was forced to take after I was there for 3 months and had a different case load which I was getting familiar with) was so large that it took me 30 min just to get from patient to patient, sometimes longer! If I ever did get off early I had to park somewhere to finish my paperwork then go get my child, come home, call patients for the next day (which took about 30-45 min) Then chart even longer for 1-2 hours each night and more times than not I STILL wouldn't be finished. So even if I did finish early just the paperwork side to it was hours on end! I got burnt out very quickly and I was working well over 40 hours a week and it felt like I was working for free because you're paid per unit. :(
The Oasis was beyond ridiculous, 34 pages for a SOC! I am very OCD about my paperwork and having it right and I think that hurt me because the paperwork took me longer.
I read many negative reviews before I started concerning terrible work/life balance but I thought it was just disgruntled former employees, but the truth is I should have listened.
