Hardworking Folks. Amazing mission. Decent Pay. A great learning opportunity and time to perfect your skills
Pros
I have a great team, i have great leadership. My manager, my director, and the big boy director .... are all prior military folks who truly care about their people and completing the mission. They sacrifice a lot of time to make sure operations keep going and issues are resolved. They stand behind their folks, and when something needs to be clarified or improved, they are behind it every step of the way. They have mentored me professionally and personally as a human being, and have treated me with respect, fairness, dignity, and faith. Such qualities are hard to come by in the private sector. These folks care about the mission and about their folks.
Cons
There inherent flaws in processes still utilized today in regards to specific operations. There sometimes is a lack of proactiveness to streamline a process or make it better. The reason this is so.... is because the "processes" involve so many different departments or shops within.... that if one department doesn't want to evolve.... that means the other departments cannot either in most regards.
