Pros

4 weeks of parental leave 18 days of PTO when you start

Cons

-Frequent acquisitions lead to a disorganized and disjointed structure. -Pay across the organization is extremely low compared to peers. -Many associates came to Cetera as a result of an acquisition, so pay and bonuses are unequal -401(k) match is 2% -Health coverage is relatively expensive for poor coverage

Pros

I would have said vacation time is great. However most IT employees work on average one year for the company.

Cons

The Glassdoor policy does not allow to mention what happened to two of the IT employees in the last six months which is unfortunate as it will allow maybe an inquiry from business leaders at Cetera? To this greatly contributes the cut throat politics, backstabbing , etc. Money is not allocated by American project managers in this company, and who does it actually is running the IT department. Unlimited resources for never ending offshore projects. Yelling at other project manager that all other employees could hear. Why? Frustrated that reporting projects progress is not done in a way that shows the consultants not being behind. Which they are by a magnitude of 10 times longer for some projects. Somebody should visit this department and take a look at how money is spent. Also create a hotline for anonymous reporting? This year no full time developer got a salary increase or bonus I was told. Bonuses are for upper management only? So do not let you fooled by the generous bonus they advertise when you sign in, you will get none. They have no shame in giving you a bad evaluation for that purpose. This shop is 95% percent filled with consultants from India. Lots of politics. Work is assigned without enough requirements to be able to work on or figure out what is not working and they complain if you ask question to be able to do your work. Consultants worry that they could be replaced by full time employees. They badly need architects as quality of code is very bad and in general they do not know what they do, anti patterns everywhere in the code. Make no mistake they will show you the exit door once they got what they wanted from you. The last architect barely lasted two years, and one person cannot cover for 90% of the consultants.
