      Pros

      The independent broker dealer structure was much preferred to being with a captive agency.

      Cons

      The training was mostly focused on sales and very little about the financial side of the business. For this reason it made it very difficult to be comfortable reaching out to family and friends to try manage their personal finances. It required a lot of trust in my managers in such a short period of time knowing them.
