Wonderful people committed to the mission.

Cons

Psychological safety was not present. Feeling unsafe and insecure, even after a strong annual performance review. It felt like people talked behind your back to undermine you. Discriminatory practices in the People and Culture team. Overall, a very poor experience. I felt I had to leave after suffering severe mental distress, and I know of several other employees who experienced the same.

Pros

Good work life balance, lots of flexibility, interesting people, great pay and benefits.

Cons

CZI is a chaotic place. Strategies are constantly shifting and this leads to jockeying for attention and power. Teams spend a lot of time chasing the Chan Zuckerberg's latest whims (currently AI), and trying to meet the shifting focus of billionaires is exhausting and draining. If you were given time to focus on work, it would be a much more positive and impactful organization.
