Pros

There are few pros to working at Chase, it does look good on your resume though. Health insurance is good but the cost is high. 401k is competitive with others and pension plan is available. There are some quality people working for the bank, but their spirit has been broken through years of micro managing district and market managers. The bonuses can be good, if your in an area that has a lot of traffic. Don't go here for the money unless you are being hired in a affluent area, even then there are much better options for you to make money.

Cons

As a banker the salary is terrible and there is no raise, if you want more money work harder and sell more. Management from the branch level up is incompetent and arrogant. Can't trust management either, they ask what they can do for you, or where you want to be in the future, but they are only interested in how you are going to get their bonus for them. Employees are pushed to call from lists in order to generate business, the call lists are always the same people or 'potential customers' that live 45 minutes from the nearest branch.

Pros

I believe that Chase is a good company to work for, and you can receive just as much back as you put into it. The benifits are great, and everyone seems to have a helping attitude.

Cons

The only down side i can see is working in the mortgage department. Constant changes in policy make it difficult to stay productive and profitable. The home finance side of the house doesn't work together as a team. its always operations against originations. If a company can't work together, how to you expect them to move forward together? You've got your originations staff processing their loans. If their going to process them, then get rid of the damn processors who sit on their ass and collect a salary. That would probably resolve the majority of your issues and get you from the red into the black. Then perhaps we can start to be competative on rates and fees and close more loans. I've never worked for a company that said lets set the expectation of 60 days for a refinance. We are expecting an influx of sales, so lets drag our feet and take twice as long as the competition to get it done. Then if we can manage to get the customer to accept that fact, its going to take another 30 days to get paid on that. So from application to pay day that makes 90 days you have to wait. Who in their right mind wants to wait 90 days to get paid for a sale? It doesn't make any sense to me. Which I bet is a large part of the reason the company is losing employees who have called Chase home for 20 years??

Pros

The reasons I have chosen to stay with Chase are because of the fact they are very military friendly, the great benefits package (100% match up to 5% of benefits pay on 401%, a seperate retirement account fully vested after 3 years, great health insurance), employee stock purchase plan)open and friendly workplace.

Cons

I would say that by far, the biggest downside of working at Chase is the company's constant aquisition competitors, which results in a seemingly endless stream of policy, software, and product changes. Quite honestly, everytime the customers get used to a product line, the company changes it because of the integration of another company, and evertime the employees get used to a software update, it is changed for the same reason.
