Metrics. If you are measured on your 24 hour closure rate for tickets and every customer says "keep the case open for a couple of days so we can monitor," well, there goes your 24 hour closure rate. Metrics are not used as a means to monitor customer activity and satisfaction, or to reward a good employee for a job well done - metrics are used as a tool to deny bonuses and raises and promotions.
You are always treated like a juvenile, always needing supervision and grooming.
I personally have a problem with the alcohol. We have a beer keg in the office and many have mini fridges under their desks with more. I understand that sometimes work, especially at Check Point, can get to you, but this can't be OSHA compliant. Maybe one day when someone gets killed leaving work there will be a policy change.
