Chemonics is an absolutely wonderful company to work for. Excellent benefits, one of the top companies in terms of inclusive practices (they formerly got a bad rap for diversity inclusion and are working really hard to correct that under their new president), and a truly warm/welcoming environment. Each division and each team has its own culture, to be sure, but from what I've seen at least at the program management (PMU) side, it's very much so a work hard/play hard atmosphere. Tons of events, happy hours, and meaningful activities as well as employee resource groups centered around various identities/issues/causes (e.g. POC, gender, LGBTQ+, Asian and Pacific Islander) that allow everyone to find friends and the place where they belong. And mind you, I am writing all of this as someone who was hired during the pandemic as a remote worker, and somehow I felt this warmly welcomed even while working remotely. Chemonics folks are genuinely kind and pleasant to work with. Apparently it's even better when everyone is in-office, though let's see how it goes when Chemonic's new office opens in Navy Yards and we aren't required to be back in the office! Also, there are LOTS of opportunities for advancement within Chemonics!! If you start as an associate, you can expect to be promoted in 1.5-2 years, and the more experience you get, the more likely you could find a short or long-term field assignment and carve your own path.
