Pros

Some good opportunities to travel, decent training in project management, and a somewhat collegial environment.

Cons

Lots of gossip- like others have said if you're in the wrong crowd you could get excluded. There is a hiring freeze and a freeze on promotions and increases. I suspect a lot of people will be leaving in the next few months because the atmosphere is grim.

Pros

A good company for short term experience and making professional contacts. Met some bright people I will know for years while working at Chemonics.

Cons

Chemonics is a short term company with most employees leaving within 1-2 years due to poor work-life balance. Leadership at Chemonics expects employees to work 10 hour days, 6 days a week, 52 weeks a year. For years employees spoke out about the poor work-life balance with no response from the executive management team. Over the last year Chemonics has lost some of it most valuable employees. Chemonics will be bankrupt within 2 years due to the reputation it now faces in the small international development community.

If you have initiative and drive you will suceed at Chemonics. There are many opportunities to grow and the company has a strong internal training component.

Cons

Sometimes it's sink or swim and employees need to be self motivated and learn how to do things for themselves. This has imporoved over the years.
