      The company itself is an excellent place to be; however, the Pasadena plant is not

      Specific to Company overall: - Making significant profits and is rapidly growing - Values their new incoming engineers, especially Chemical engineers - Tons of career advancement opportunities - Have access to some of the best in the industry - Well supported by parent companies (Chevron + Phillips 66)

      Cons

      Specific to Pasadena plant: - Unions force the company to retain incompetent and highly unmotivated employees - Site management is a mix of a few good managers with very terrible ones

      Not a bad place to work if you hate commuting and live in the Woodlands

      Short commute if you live in the Woodlands or surrounding areas; one of the few companies around that still offers a pension package; well capitalized and financially strong as compared to its peers, poised to be a major player in the chemcial business given its international investments; aging middle and senior leadership team means better opportunities as soon as this group begins to retire

      Cons

      Very lean (sometimes cheap) when it comes to employee perks, limited career opportunities since no employee movement to the larger parent companies; not the best at clearing out the dead weight
