Pros

The office is on Park Ave (enough said) and average salaries.

Cons

A list, in no particular order: President is an unbearable salesperson who only respects employees that are upper class, anything below you are nobody and you will be treated as such. He makes it a stressful place to work for no reason and doesn't care about the mental health of his employees- ironically. Yells and belittles staff with no regard for them as humans. Donations must pay for the beautiful Park Ave office because it certainly doesn't go toward helping children in need of metal health services. That said, this not a legitimate non profit and I'm not sure how they market themselves that way- seems dishonest... Etc.

Pros

Coworkers are very nice and helpful, and dedicated to what they're doing. There's a lot of pride in their work and it makes you want to do better. Lots of opportunities to learn and grow - especially for clinical. Company is really dedicated to improving children's mental healthcare. Compensation and benefits are good. Company is making some efforts to improve morale. Nice to have on your resume. If you can work here, you can work anywhere.

Cons

Still have some silos and cliques. Turnover is high. In some departments you are definitely working harder but not smarter. Caters to the wealthy

Great coworkers, terrible management

Pros

There are a lot of opportunities to grow your responsibilities and learn new skills on the job. The work is often challenging and interesting. Coworkers are friendly, smart, and hardworking. There is a lot of camaraderie and the sense that you're all in it together.

Cons

Two major cons: it's effectively not a nonprofit, and exec staff politics/policies are unbearable. As another reviewer said, CMI is an elitist company that caters to Page 6-ers and their .001% children. Despite claims to the contrary, CMI does not really help the children struggling with mental health problems who need it most - it's for the rich, by the rich. In addition, the politics between departments and among exec staff are staggering and frustrating. A lot of work is either redundant or completely skipped and then cobbled together at the last minute because of poor communication. This often leads to truly unnecessary 60-70 hour workweeks (and of course, far below market pay for those long hours). It's also at least partially why the average duration of employment on the foundation side is well under a year. And most frustratingly, exec staff micromanages and is always looking to place blame on underlings, even if they don't know their names. The President in particular is known to be intensely unpleasant to work with.
