Worst place I've ever worked.

Pros

The beautiful caretakers who are in it to change lives.

Cons

The CEO and the chief marketing officer need to change in order for this place to be bearable. The marketing department is the most corrupt, toxic work environment I've ever been in. Over 35 people of a nearly 50-person department have either left or been fired (about half and half) in the matter of two years under the same Chief Marketing Officer. Yet, she stays in her role?! Those of us who remain hear and see sexism, ageism, sexual harrament, racism and homophobia on a weekly basis. She continues to run a department that is the laughing stock of the hospital/marketing industry in Dallas. Believe me, all of us are trying to get out. Everyone in the marketing department is at the will of the CEO, whose mood swings control the entire business. Oh, and it is a well-known fact he doesn't like children (yes, while working at a children's hospital.)

Pros

Obviously working for a system like Children's is an honor, and a privilege. The people are great, the facility is beautiful and you are making life better for children! Just thinking about my time there makes me proud. The benefits are great, and the PTO is plentiful.

Cons

There is not a lot of flexibility (ie working from home) for a lot of administrative departments - even though many of the other big systems in the area allow their employees to so. There is A LOT of work to be done, and sometimes employees get overwhelmed but overall, it's not bad. Employees have to park a little far away too.
