Pros

Good people. Good concept. What Chipotle Corp. stands for is amazing but it's just not getting all the way to the restaurants any more.

Cons

At the end of the day it's all about the bottom line. I personally have seen GM's including myself get little or no support then get fired for not doing a good job. I loved this company to my core, but I was still fired when my boss felt like I wasn't promoting managers when I didn't even have enough managers to run shifts how was I suppose to find time to train New managers in such a small period of time at a brand new store. But I tried to stay positive and was working 80 to 100 hours a week to get the training done and still got let go.

Pros

It teaches you alot, food with integrity , fun at times.

Cons

I would say that your success depends alot on who you know and are friends with. As a former GM I can say I didn't feel any support from area management. They were really good at pointing out opportunities at the store but never acknowledge accomplishments. They expect Alot from salary employees (assistant mgrs & up). Your scheduled to work 50 but only get payed for 40 and honestly most work weeks for me were about 60 hrs,at which point you start thinking of whether it's worth the salary. I said fun at times because I actually and genuinely enjoyed a fast paced rush and enjoyed serving customers. Their mantra is "you will be rewarded based on how much you make others around you better", and that works great until a certain point. Not everyone who got hired had a plan to become a restaurant manager and hiring people who were looking for "temp" jobs was a no no. They didn't hire managers straight up, they had to start as crew. Let's face it, 9 bucks an hr isn't too bad if you're in school or its a summer job but who's willing to make that a full time job,i certainly wouldn't. I was there for the learning experience and appreciate those who did help me out but as soon as I got my degree I said bye bye.

Pros

-Great people; coworkers and managers are generally helpful and friendly -Free good-tasting food on shift -Time goes by quickly because of how fast-paced it is -Not sure how the wages are elsewhere, but my Chipotle starts crew members at $12/hr, which is a much higher wage than any other entry-level fast food or retail job in my area

Cons

-Easy to get overwhelmed when starting out -Chipotle forces a cult-like ideology on their workers in an attempt to build their "culture" -Customers are the most demanding and needy out of all fast-food restaurant customers due to Chipotle's target clientele -Easy to get fired so try not to mess up too much
