Pros

Talk about job security -- you're working for a company that adds 125 restaurants a year, is trading gang busters on the NYSE, and the sales are growing in one of the worst economic crisis in years. If you do your job and do your job well, having your job disappear isn't an option. Also, you're working for a company that is doing something larger than just selling burritos and tacos, they're changing the food paradigm in the United States (and beyond). So, for that, you feel good when you go home at night. Plus the laid back attitude and relaxed work environment is still there from the old days when they were small. (For the most part.) If you work in the restaurant, you can move up the career ladder very, very easily. Because they are growing at such a quick pace they need people and they need people from within. You can roll burritos today and in a few years oversee a few restaurants. The career path for those in the restaurant is endless, the sky is the limit.

Cons

They are growing gang busters but not adding more head count so you'll do double the work in 2 years than you do right now. If someone quits or is fired, they generally do not replace them so others are asked to pick up the work. Those outside of the restaurant have no career path, they jog in place. The staff head count is and will stay the same. Furthermore, when they do have an opening that could be a promotion for some, they magically already have a replacement in place without generally holding interviews or making the position public. Many promotions are magically filled. They are getting better as of recent of making those positions open to all, but in actuality it seems like a front and historically they were never made available for all to apply.

Pros

Chipotle is one of the few "fast food" restaurants striving to serve healthy, (somewhat) organic, fresh food. They also try to promote internally, so there are opportunities to advance. Starting wage is decent and might be higher than similar jobs at other restaurants.

Cons

Like most restaurants, turnover is extremely high and morale can sometimes be low. The people that do stay usually are great workers, but can become burnt out.
