      Low pay, even for someone who had been there for years

      Pros

      My manager was nice, the people I worked with were generally pretty fun.

      Cons

      upper management sucked. I worked there for 3 years and only got a dollar an hour raise (barely above minimum wage) after begging for one. I took pride in my work and got promoted, but didn't get any raise. Once they were short staffed and told me that they would pay me double if I worked on Thanksgiving, so I did, and as soon as my paycheck came in, they said that I couldn't get double pay because at the time I wasn't a full time employee. I was in college. If i knew they were going to screw me, I would have gone home for thanksgiving dinner.

      Pros

      You can always excel in this business. They send you to paid conventions and there are special rates for friends and family for being an employee.

      Cons

      Not a full service hotel. Front desk is responsible for room service. Almost impossible, but it's not. Also, FDCs should get paid more.

      Pros

      The only pro to working for this company is the guests. Most all will treat you respectfully and will tell you that you deserve to work in better conditions.

      Cons

      Senior management treats everyone with disrespect. Your first paycheck often takes weeks to receive. If you work over 40 hours they WILL change your timecard to prevent paying overtime. They discriminate based on age and/or race. They do not provide efficient tools to perform job such as; office supplies, food & beverage min/max levels, cleaning supplies required by Depth. of Health, etc. They do not make repairs in a timely fashion or sometimes even at all.
