Pros

- Fun atmosphere - Great employee's overall - Love to see kids smile and laugh - Learned a lot over my nine years

Cons

- Its not about what you know, its about who you know - Hard work and long hours get you no where unless you know upper management personally - Upper management is slow to pull the trigger when managers are not up to par

Pros

It's a quirky atmosphere, especially when most of your front-end staff is still in or is fresh out of high school. You get to work around kids (great if you love 'em), and are eventually entitled to FREE food if you work hard. This could be a wonderful job if you work a slower location and have supportive mgmt.

Cons

Obviously since it's Chuck E Cheese, you'll have your fair share of Wal-Mart-nesque clientele, esp. on weekends. Good luck heading out for a drink Saturday night if you are a manager, because your availability basically has to be any day, any time. We used to be closed Xmas Day, and now that's gone, so have fun watching other families have fun 365 days of the year, and book time off WELL in advance if you want it. Favouritism, hierarchy, and (very poor) micromanagement are very alive in the store I work at which spells good for no one. The turnover rate is higher than I usually am after putting up with disorganization and incompetence all day, everyday. I guess it depends on who is in charge and how loyal they are willing to be to the people who truly dedicate themselves, which is non-existent at my location. Hours are constantly cut, yet under the table jobs are being given in return for extra hours...some cashiers have walked away with not much less than a mgr/coordinator each paycheck.
