Pros

Share price keeps going up, company growing thru accquisitions, summer Fridays, I am still here only because this has become my comfort zone.

Cons

No flexibility, no telecommuting option, keep accquiring new brands but not more people to do the extra work, low pay, managers are not groomed or trained to be leaders, no appreciation for the hard work that you do. very limited opportunities to move up so you get stuck in a role for years! New management has their priorities all out of order...spend $$ decorating conference rooms but cant order lunch for a meeting.

Poor Hostile Company with Horrible Work Life Balance

Pros

There are no pros for a horrible company like this. They are the definition of evil.

Cons

In no way should you EVER, EVER, EVER, work for this company if you value your career, life, and family. This company is a Hostile Company that treats their employees like garbage and only cater to the executives. A company that so called has "unlimited" sick days, scolds you for actually taking a sick day. When you hit 10-12 days in a YEAR (that's 12 days out of 365 DAYS) you get in trouble. So, god forbid if you get the flu or sick, they will take every measure to hold it over your head and against you. Then it looks bad for your review and any chance of promotion won't go in your favor. There was even a case when a co worker was extremely ill (almost FATAL) and the company was threatening to fire them because they were going to have surgery. You would think the company would help and be positive toward their recovery. No get well wishes, nothing. Just come back to work or you're fired. HR breathes down your neck like fire and stalks you on their camera systems. If you late by even a couple minutes you'll be notified and strikes will apply to your record like it's a prison. Strikes? REALLY? Are we in 3rd grade? Say goodbye to your family and work life balance as you'll be here for long hours with horrible pay. The company churns and burns employees like a revolving door. When we get temps/contractors to help with work they will only last a couple months before they are fired or have enough courage to stick up for themselves and quit. Oh, and if you get fired, you're not allowed to even grab your belongings from your office. I've seen plenty of co-worked get "let go" and they were escorted out like a prisoner without even gather pictures, belonging, or personal effects. They'd be lucky enough to get them back if anything. Promotions? What promotions, do they even exist? When it comes to raises you only get peanuts for a raise. They don't even match industry averages. They highly underpay you especially women. No room for growth and Favoritism is played. There were even instances where they forced out old employees because they did not want to cover any of their benefits after they retire. Even started to higher or Promote unqualified people for high-level positions overlooking employees who poured their life into the company. The company is mismanaged and will tank in the long run or at least get bought out by a bigger competitor. I really do hope so, so all the upper-level executives get canned and better management would come in. At least I had the never to leave on my own while finding something much better. It wasn't worth my sanity or mental state of mind. Work is NOT LIFE!

Little man syndrome

Pros

The Ewing office is a nice facility. Summer hours and casual Friday's help employees rationalize their decision to stick it out. The employee bonus program helps the overall compensation package to be competitive with the peer marketplace. The stock options for managers reward total corporate performance, which has been good on average for the last 15 years. Perhaps not as good recently unless the CEO can convince the board to accept a plan that is just high enough to be credible, but also low enough to be beatable.

Cons

CHD Openly criticize their large and effective competitors as a strategy to illustrate to Wall Street and their own staff that they are not going to lie down and be pushed around. Sales management intimidate and bully their own staff in addition to all other departments to act like a bigger company, without the necessary resources. As a result everyone tip toes around the top sales leader in fear of public humiliation, demotion or termination if they can't pull rabbits out of a hat. Mercurial behavior at the highest level make it hard to focus on business problem solving without serious consideration pertaining to retributive consequences. The Sales team openly blame their failures on marketing incompetence and marketing blame sales for inability to execute effectively. Too much time is spent on attacking and defending internal issues. HR, while doing an effective job of administrating employee benefits, are powerless to intervene in the political infighting and bad behavior demonstrated at the highest levels.
