Pros

Occasional work from home.

Cons

I worked at Cielo for over 2 years, and can easily say it was the most toxic environment I’ve encountered in my career. Managers have a cut-throat mentality, and are quick to pass blame and throw coworkers under the bus to get ahead. It is impossible to grow your career with this company unless you are willing to play dirty and overwork yourself. With these toxic people as managers and senior leadership, the remaining employees are left feeling defeated and as if they are constantly walking on glass to get anything done. Despite having glowing reviews from all my other employers, I was constantly given harsh and incredibly rude feedback on all aspects of my work. This is unfortunately the norm if you work at Cielo, and I don’t foresee it changing anytime soon. I have never questioned myself as much as I did while I worked at Cielo, and I know that leaving was one of the best decisions of my life. It’s not healthy to work somewhere that you dread walking into every day, so save your mental health, time and energy and look elsewhere.

Ouch, wow. Sue Marks here. It’s not easy to read that anyone could work in what they perceive as a toxic environment for two years ... and that the toxic environment they were describing was our company. I’m really sorry your experience was negative, and it absolutely does not reflect our values, culture or what I expect of our leaders. While I do - and we do - expect a lot from ourselves and each other, it’s disappointing that you did not see our organization as one where you could accelerate your career and your opportunities for growth. I truly believe everyone deserves a career they love and I hope that you’ve found that in your new endeavors. Even though you’re no longer with Cielo, please consider connecting with me to share more about your experience and how we can improve. Contact me any time at sue.marks@cielotalent.com.

Pros

Free coffee, it used to be a good company so I still have people I enjoy talking to.

Cons

Let me start by saying I used to hold Cielo in high regard until about spring of 2016. That is when they stopped caring who they hire and promote. The culture is primarily bullying. I have been called a b word by my coworkers from another row of cubes SO LOUD it was humiliating and unprovoked, had rumors spread about me and brought it to managements attention and nothing was done. In fact those people have all been promoted. I am shy so being called names and being put in that position caused me a lot of discomfort and anxiety. If they sense shyness they will Use it against you as a weakness for sport. It’s not about how well you work, how outside of the box you try to think, or how you manage your workload. It’s about who you know and how well you have kissed up. This promotes the bullying culture because leaders are aware they aren’t good at what they do so when it is brought to another leads attention there are better or even different ways of doing something, you will be made to feel humiliated for even suggesting things. Favoritism is also very apparent here. Again it is who you know not how well you do. A few of my coworkers home school their kids on the clock or don’t have child care and when their work isn’t done it is swept under the rug because of who they know. So those of us who are actually working like we are getting paid to do are meant to pick up the slack. Entirely disheartening overall.

Hi, this is Molly Thiel, SVP of People & Culture for the Americas. The information in your post is alarming. Not only does it violate our people promises, but no one should ever be made to feel the way you describe. I understand you have spoken with a leader, but please come talk to me or a member of the People & Culture team. You can visit me on the 4th floor in Brookfield, or contact me any time at molly.thiel@cielotalent.com or 262-439-1389.

Pros

Great place to get your foot in the door.

Cons

I worked at Cielo for just over 2 years. At first it was so great, but then you realize it's all about who you know there. There are empty promises of room for growth. I didn't feel appreciated and was very much overworked. I worked on a high volume team and it was a constant push to overwork yourself. At the time I didn't mind my job however now that I work at a different company I realize there is so much better out there.
