Pros

The work environment is a lot of fun. The employees they hire are fun people, mostly the younger crowd. Management is fun as well, not being too strict with their rules. They still follow their guidelines, it's just that they do it without the heavy hammer and chains.

Cons

The biggest downside would be the hourly wage. It's minimum wage, even though all the employees work hard, and multitask every single day they work. Not only that, but the hours can be very tiring. Sometimes employees don't leave until 2:30 in the morning on weekends. Raises are hard to come by as well. It's a fun work environment, but it doesn't fully coat the greediness the corporation holds on its employees.

Pros

flexible hours, free movies, some of the local non-management employees can be friendly, ok job if you're going to school and need some cash on the side.

Cons

I was a projectionist until the theater went all digital. I worked for them when it was a Century theater. Under Century, employees were treated fairly but Cinemark definitely takes a "Management= Royalty, Employee=Peon" . You are given less than 25 hours a week no matter how long you've been there or how well you do your job. If you want more hours, suck up to a manager and hope to be promoted or work 7 days a week at any hour they want you to. Little to no hope for advancement unless you're buddy buddy with someone, and promotions are given out on the basis of how well you're liked rather than job competence. People are written up for the slightest infraction, and management is more concerned with kissing up to their superior rather than doing their job, and it shows. Employees are treated like children and management refuses to take their side against a customer even if all the evidence is in the employee's favor. Having to call some kid barely out of high school Mr. or Miss is just plain ridiculous. Some of the rudest customers I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with..and I've worked a few fast food jobs in my time. Just an all around atmosphere of apathy and negativity...get out while you can!!!
