Pros

Good chance to learn different technologies that you will never use it again. Free movies, refill container at a discount.

Cons

Terrible company culture. International tech support agents treated like Third World slaves, in spite of the revenues generated by their territories. Illegal and borderline illegal company policies: No water allowed in the Network Operations Center (NOC). English only policy (even for casual conversations while rude Supervisors can talk about NFL/NBA games and other job unrelated subjects for hours uninterruptedly); Limit/restrict bathroom visits with jokes regularly used out loud by supervisors and upper management to embarrass and humiliate agents and force them to avoid bathroom breaks; no lunch breaks until ticket/incident is closed (sometimes this can take hours); Change in schedules happen constantly and without notice (3 months rotation guaranteed at time of hiring) and are not assigned based on merit. Agents are constantly screamed at and humiliated in front of other agents. Jokes about nationality, race, local costumes/culture and comparisons often occur. Last, but not least, agents cannot even stand up to stretch leg muscles without being harass. Again, in front of everybody like a little child misbehaving. Preposterous! Careful when taking issues to the HR. Managers will eventually retaliate after the dust settles down. Don't waste your time, is better to find another job and check company reviews on Glassdoor and other reliable job sites.

Pros

- You get discounted concessions before, during, and (30 minutes) after your shifts. - You can see free movies/and or get guest passes to other Cinemark theaters. - After you've been working at a location for a few weeks with good work ethic, your schedule can become very flexible and your request-offs will be honored more often. - You can learn a lot about how to a handle stressful work environment and how to stay calm during very, very busy work days. - You get 1.5x your hourly salary on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day.

Cons

- There is an unbelievable amount of favoritism between management and floor staff, and I say this after having worked at two locations in two different states. Some employees are quite literally "shunned" by many members of the staff. - Location dependent, the bulk of the management staff are 18-25 year old college students. This becomes a problem when those that are supposed to be taking on a leadership roll aren't as mature as, say, a mid-30's or older adult with more life experience. - Not only at Cinemark, but at any movie theater establishment in the United States, unless forbidden by state law, movie theater employees are EXEMPT from overtime pay. You can, and most likely will, be scheduled to work well over forty hours in a week at times, and you just get your regular hourly salary. - There is an overall lack of respect for the employees. Maybe it's the high turnover rate that causes managers to simply disregard the feelings of their employees, but Cinemark simply does not care for the overall well-being of its staff. You will be overworked, verbally abused by customers, be asked to stay for many hours after your scheduled shift is to end, and nothing comes of it. -The pay is dirt cheap, the raises are at maximum $0.30. -There is no company culture. You are simply seen as a robot that cleans theaters, serves popcorn and soda, and lets customers stomp all over you.

Pros

Free movies is a grea t benefit. Fun co-workers. Good environment.

Cons

Only getting 50% off on concessions and studio eats while on break. 9.30 an hour is too low for what we do a lot in the usher department, and the things we deal with.
