Pros

Regular Yearly Raises and increased raise amount based on how well you perform Paid vacation and increases every couple years, and it is equivalent to how many your average hours worked is. So example since I have been here so long I get 3 weeks vacation if I work 32 hours a week then I get 96 hours for vacation Room for promotion Don't listen to that other review saying they change district managers. I have had the same regional and district manager this entire time. Easy to transfer stores Easy to learn Easy to do the work if you are not lazy Hard to get fired Some customers are awesome 1.5x pay for holidays and OT Managers will usually try to work with you. Especially if you are respectful and help them as well. Consistent schedules Great for training. Managers and employees will work together with you and accept calls when they are not at work to help you solve a problem you run into.

Cons

With any retail job the customers are horrible. But since you work in a gas station you are basically less that dirt if you work in a higher class neighborhood. Managers sometimes will not work with you(but come on people....they are your boss and you are not in charge of them) Mandatory to work on holidays if the manager wills it so it is fair for everyone.(pro/con) Not allowed to have OT (but it sometimes happens) They refuse to give us any protection around the register area such as protective panes even in bad neighborhoods. They say the panes will make customers not want to come in....which means they care more about profits than your safety Not allowed to fight back against a person or robber even if they hit you first (you will get fired) Strict money control but makes sense...it just makes customers mad. Bland work. A list of 40 things can be done in a matter of an hour. And you do the same things every single day. Bosses virtually never quit. There are some bad managers out there but most are pretty great. There is employees as with all jobs that will constantly pretend they are perfect and talk about people behind their backs. You are being constantly watched on camera. Everything is recorded 100% of the time including audio.

Pros

Being full time gives you 2 weeks paid vacation, holiday pay, and a set schedule.

Cons

Region managers rotate your district managers every 2-3 months. They believe 1 to 2 employees can handle 1500 customers in a days time, while you clean, stock, count cig inventory, and be perfect in cash handling, lotto printing, and setting up pumps. I once said I wouldnt recommend this job to my worse enemy.

Pros

Good senior leadership and well established business. The company knows what they are doing and has a solid back end which well supports the retail locations. Leaders are good mentors and like to grow talent within the company.

Cons

At the time, long standing senior leadership and well established business. It was hard to get promoted to a leadership position because the shared services team did not have a lot of people growth. Folks tended to get promoted as someone exited. The business ran really well, there was opportunity to learn the skills of the technology in place. But there was not a lot of room for growth outside of the "cog" you filled unless you did it outside of the workplace.
