Okay Job But I Feel Underpaid

Pros

Control of store, decent hours (in early out early relatively), decent upper management, alright benefits, hourly (if you have to work 70 due to call off you get paid for it unlike a salaried position).

Cons

Sometimes long hours, corporate mindset, having to cover shifts during calloffs (can be mitigated by hiring a good staff), low general pay (should work 50 hours, last ten hours amounts to ~1/3 of pay, so if sick your checks get hit badly).

The only con that I have about working there is that when working there it's all about who you know.

Circle K is a Canadian-owned Company that's growing rapidly world wide. There are lots of opportunities for growth and advancement, especially for those willing to relocate. You don't necessarily need a specific degree to excel -- just demonstrate your commitment and ability, and you'll advance fairly quickly. Many top executives started as hourly store associates.

Cons

There's definitely a bias towards internal employees. This is great most of the time, but can make it challenging for new people or ideas to take root. It can be difficult to advance your career if you don't come from operations, or have lots of similar experience elsewhere.
