      Great Place especially for a big company

      Pros

      Flexible time, even with tons of work. The job is more project oriented than time oriented, and most of your coworkers "get it." This is not the type of place where a few people do a majority of the work, it's very competitive to stand out, I like that.

      Cons

      Typical big company issues, lots of processes. But they try at least to do something about it. Worst part is the slow erosion of things that made it special 10 years ago, cut for the sake of squeezing every penny out of the bottom line.

      Pros

      Access to great technologies and information on everything. Financial stability. High level resources in specific teams. Benefits are very good compared to other local companies

      Cons

      Running business on excel spreadsheets. Thinking web pages are actual tools instead of access points. Inefficiencies are extremely high which explains why the margins need to be above 80% so that all that overhead can easily be hidden. Example: change orders take several weeks instead of minutes or hours.

      Has a great variety of exciting opportunities as Cisco is expanding into market adjecencies such as video, data center, collaboration, etc.

      Cons

      Typical culture is that employees work late and emphasis is placed on performance and results. Development process is very process oriented.
