Dear Anonymous - I always chuckle when i see the "free beer" comment. This must be surprising for some, but actually it's no big deal, and handled so responsibly by staff; just one of our many free beverage perks. What is cool is actually working on hedge funds and doing important work for our premier global hedge fund clients. The experience is great for grads and seasoned professionals alike. While we do see natural attrition at our junior levels, a lot of our "smartie's" stay around, get promoted and improve their technical and client relationship management skills. Thanks for your input.

Dear Former Colleague - I've heard so many colleagues over the years refer to the great teams they are on usually headed by a terrific manager. That experience can lead to so many positives - friendships, colleagues you can learn from and count on, managers who look out for you and help you to attain your goals. Thanks for highlighting those important hallmarks of the Citco work experience. Depending on the work you do here - there can be a fair amount of overtime. However we have pay practices in place (OT and bonus policies) to address the extra effort that employees put in. I wish you had mentioned your office - as vacation policies at Citco are typically quite generous and often exceed market averages to balance out the overtime commitment.

Hi Former employee, it's great to get this feedback. Citco is really trying to get the balance right between respecting our clients' needs and respecting our employees' needs. Our work environment, culture and benefits go some way to this, but, taking your feedback on board, perhaps not enough. Unfortunately the nature of our industry requires long working hours at certain times of the month/ year. Work /life balance is a difficult thing to get right because everyone's needs are unique. We accept that this is something to which we need to give more focus. Regarding promotions, Citco has a robust meritocracy culture and the process to support that. It's disappointing that you'd think otherwise. I hope that your Citco experience has benefited you in securing a new role. Good luck with your continued career.
