Cons
In my time as a Senior Designer, I encountered a lack of leadership support and consistent communication from management. My direct manager often discouraged communication with developers and claimed he would relay all information, but extended absences due to vacation and illness left me without critical updates. In his absence, I was redirected to a Junior Designer who was not collaborative — withholding access to essential design files and excluding me from meetings I should have been part of. Despite being in the senior role, I was repeatedly undermined, with the Junior Designer included in hiring interviews without my knowledge or involvement. This, along with clear favoritism, limited autonomy, and restricted access to necessary resources, created an environment that was not conducive to professional growth. While I remained committed and tried to address these challenges, it became evident that the team dynamics and leadership approach were not aligned with my professional values or expectations.
