Pros

It was a tough time to look for an internship so I accepted the offer because it was the only one I had. However, one benefit of working for Citi is that it is a household name and people know it.

Cons

The company is too large and too political. Too many fake people work there; people who talk behind people's back. Vikram should not have brought in all his buddies from Morgan Stanley to run the company, that is cronyism. That place is not the safest place to work right now. In fact that is not a good industry to work in right now.

Pros

Citigroup has a large network and there are many opportunities for advancemenet across divisions within the company.

Cons

LOTS of bureaucracy. Also, the feedback wasn't always great. People who weren't doing so well were never told explicitly. More transparency would have helped. I feel like many times my boss gave me things to do soley for the purposes of keeping me busy. Many of the projects had little to no added value. Furthermore, as a junior person within the company I was asked to do some extremely tedious, non-business related tasks. One time a more senior employee gave me a bunch of receipts for his personal expenses and asked me to create a spreadsheet.
