Pros

Benefits were much better than average, especially maternity leave

Cons

No paper on your desk EVER- no post its in your garbage or you get written up- you get a mark against you for being 1 minute late, even in a snow storm -unless the boss happened to get stuck in traffic

Pros

Citi has a great franchise, primarily outside the US. Opportunities abound in the market, yet competition challenges the firm daily. The company does pay well, or at least fairly.

Cons

Highly political environment. Advancement fully based on who you know. Rules changes frequently. Management constantly in reactionary mode. Business priorities change too frequently to move forward effectively.

Pros

Even though it is a large bulge bracket firm, the divisions are run more or less autonomously, atleast in my experience. Office politics seemed to be lower than the average financial conglomerate.

Cons

Senior management often treats junior analysts like worker drones, innovation is not encouraged. If you are happy just performing your role and nothing else then it is the right place for you.
