Pros

Decent pay, 1 day a week to work from home via VPN, decent benefits but getting progressively worse the last few years.

Cons

The bank is constantly trying to cut costs, which has resulted in a rather poor work environment over the last few years. They have the Rhode Island mentality of "Your lucky to have a job" since the economy in RI is typically the worst in the US. Citizens is in the process of outosurcing all of its IT to India. Other bank groups are to be outsourced sooon as well. The outsourcing companies provide awful service, but Citizens is just interesting in trying to save a buck and doesn't care about quality any more. Citizens has become known for working salaried employees as many hours as possible without giving any comp time or other perks. The work life balance is terrible here. .Citizens used to be a great place to work, but not anymore. I would not recommend anyone to work here.

Pros

Unlimited earning potential via bonus structure Advancement opportunities

Cons

Constant pencil pushing. Send this tracker, fill this out, don't forget this. I'm not referring to the federal regulations either, I am talking about the extracurricular "Citizens Bank" daily ins/outs

Pros

I worked with many, many great people at Citizens. The company is undergoing a long overdue transformation after years of foreign parent rule.

Cons

Unfortunately, the transformation has created an atmosphere of distrust and insecurity. People are overworked and under constant pressure. Many of the great people are leaving, voluntarily or not, and the new upper-middle managers being brought in are either good people who lack leadership skills or hard-driving people that don't acknowledge the contributions of those under them.
