Pros
Very elegant new campus compared to many places I've seen. Peaceful. Colleagues are pleasant and the only campus where faculty parking is totally FREE.
Cons
Perhaps if I taught more, I wouldn't have such contempt for Citrus College in general. They gave a Pre-Algebra class to see if my teaching skills were adequate. You have to drop students, and the professor can be held accountable. I thought that class I had was slow, rude, and completely disrespect perhaps myself being the culprit. You got to law down the law in any Junior College. A small class of 20 students reduced to 8 after 16 weeks. In the meanwhile, a couple students show ditch so much they would miss examination. The class also had a mandatory math lab for credit and mandatory attendance in both lab and class. I was threatened by a student and after class got campus security telephone number. This place could easily be good to very good. However, the administration seems to believe the pathological lies of students rather that the honest newbie instructor. In my 11.5 years of teaching north of 150 class, only 4 out 9 that stayed passed with a C or better. I wasn't called by Citrus College ever again.
