Pros

Clean Harbors has the advantage of being a large multi-national, multi-billion dollar company that has reaches around the globe. Their primary asset is the people who work there. With heavy emphasis on safety, coupled with a low lost time accident rate, Clean Harbors is the number one vendor for many busy and generous oil and gas companies. Clean Harbors provides the organization and corporate identity needed to provide strong leadership and provide complex solutions to difficult problems. You will be busy at Clean Harbors with the correct attitude. Operators who have a class 1 and experience can expect a wage of 25-30$/hour with full benefits after 3 months. Gross income in one year can be expected to be 100k$, minimum. Full training is accompanied when hired on, including two weeks of paid online technical training. You can build a career here.

Cons

Wage can be expected to be less than that of other contractors in the business. However, this should not be taken as a negative so much. Other contractors do not boast the high safety record Clean Harbors does. The hours are long, and the work can be challenging at times. However, with the right individual and team workmanship, these challenges can be overcome. Work/Life balance can be a struggle because out of town work is often required. This, with long hours presents a challenge to new employees.
